The Portfolio Selection Procedures
Investment decisions will be made in accordance with a rigorous process of Identification, Monitoring and implementation. Investment Managers and analysts will recommend specific investments or Asset Allocation changes to be reviewed by the entire investment committee. Diligent monitoring provides opportunities to expand investment research and enter positions at favorable time and price points to help generate Alpha in the long term. The Engelberg Global Fund will be passive in nature and aims to maintain portfolio turnover well under 100% of AUM per annum. The flexibility in Asset allocation that is allowed by the investment restrictions will be used by Investment Managers to properly position the fund in anticipation of long term and macroeconomic movement in global markets to help stabilize and maximize portfolio returns. The equity portion of the fund will be managed in accordance with long held industry research pointing to equal weighting as the best implementation strategy. Equity rebalancing will occur Quarterly.
Investment Committee
Is acting in a fiduciary capacity to execute investment management of the portfolio and report to the board of Engelberg (PTY) Ltd.. The investment Committee of Engelberg Global Fund are all highly qualified and registered investment managers with more than sufficient experience to manage the Fund.
Jacques Hattingh is the acting Director and Key Individual and of Engelberg (PTY) Ltd. and CIO of Engelberg funds. Jacques Hattingh is a FSCA registered representative, with 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has been managing money for more than 20 years. Jacques Hattingh is also Co-Founder of First Global Asset Management and long standing head of the Investment committee and COO, overseeing the launch of Multiple Investment Funds with combined AUM exceeding 6 Billion ZAR.
Marcel Hattingh (Bcomm. Hons – Financial Risk Management) will serve as a registered representative and analyst in Engelberg.
Calla Hamman (CFA) will serve and a Junior Analyst in Engelberg.
Merwe Viljoen CA(SA) and Wayne Liebenberg CA(SA) will act in ongoing consulting roles.
